To install TRAFFIX from a CD-ROM run the “setup.exe” and follow the instructions to confirm or identify the installation directory. NOTE: If the user has a previous version of TRAFFIX previously installed, sometimes the old version of TRAFFIX will try to “run” when the installation CDROM is inserted.
Note: TRAFFIX is a copyrighted program licensed to a single office site as specified in the program “Welcome” banner (refer to the license agreement). The program disk itself is not permanently copy protected. The user is encouraged to make needed backup copies of the program files.
Create a working directory for storing your TRAFFIX database files. For example: c:\TraffixW\files
Copy the sample file (Sample.TFX) from the TRAFFIXW directory to the working directory.
The computer’s TEMP directory should be on a hard drive (normal Windows configuration does this in the C:\Windows\Temp directory). If for some reason your TEMP directory is on a RAM drive, it may not be big enough, even if it is 2MB. We recommend changing it to a hard drive location. This is usually done in the AUTOEXEC.BAT file with the SET TEMP= command.
