Step 8.3 Check the Results

  1. When TRAFFIX is done, click the View Log button. You will be able to scroll through the comments, warnings and error messages associated with your latest forecast. These are the same messages that were listed on the screen as TRAFFIX was doing the forecast. Look over these messages and correct any fatal errors (you should also look at the warnings, to see if they suggest a problem that you might wish to correct - not all warnings require correction). You may print this file (or a part of it) using the Print button.

  2. Click the View Report button. You will be able to scroll through and review the output reports. You may print this file (or a part of it) using the Print button.

  3. Check the trip generation report to make sure the total inbound and outbound trips are correct for each land use type.

  4. Check the trip distribution report to make sure that all trips between zones and gates have been allocated.

  5. Check the link volumes report to make sure that the volumes on links connecting each zone to the network equal the number of inbound and outbound trips generated. Outbound trips = Volume “In” to the intersection, and Inbound trips = Volume “Out” from the intersection.

  6. Click the Done button to exit the forecast screen.
