CHAPTER 5: REFERENCE DOCUMENT OVERVIEW

These reference chapters contain detailed information about the various features available in TRAFFIX™ for Windows. Chapters 6 through 12 describe the items on the main menu that appears at the top of the screen. Pull-down menus can be accessed by selecting a main menu item with the mouse cursor or using “ Alt-?” keystrokes. These menus provide access to many of the commands and actions used in the program.

Chapters 13 through 15 describe, respectively, the Intersection Pop-up Menu, the LOS Mitigate Screen, and the Zone Pop-up Menu.

Chapters 16 through 18 describe the program’s three editing modes: Edit Network, Edit Paths, and Edit Routes. When the program starts, the initial display is for the Edit Network mode. Each editing mode has toolbar buttons and command buttons for ready access to the commands and actions needed to perform the respective editing tasks.

The main menu on the top line of the screen contains seven items: File, Edit, Arrange, Options, View, Tools, and Help. Selection of a main menu item activates a pull-down menu with available options. In some cases, there are second or third level menus. Some of the options in the pull-down menus can be accessed with shortcut keystrokes (or hot keys), which are shown next to the options on the pull-down menus. Some of the options also have toolbar buttons that appear below the main menu bar. The Options…Global Data menu is also available as a pop-up menu by pointing to a blank spot in the edit window and clicking the right mouse button.
