The write feature can only create one scenario at a time. Combined project files (a .CMD file and its associated .IN file) or individual component files (.CMD, .NET, .VOL, .GEO, .FEE, .GEN, .DST, .PTH, .RTE, .CFG) can be created. The user should be aware that early versions of the DOS program could not accommodate diagonal links; so, if your TRAFFIX™ for Windows network contains diagonal links, they should be manually converted to orthogonal links before writing the DOS version files.
Note: This could involve making changes to paths. The write/read DOS version files feature is useful for copying data from one scenario to another. First write the appropriate DOS version data from one scenario. Select the other scenario, then read in the DOS version file. Make any changes to the data in the second scenario to make them unique to that scenario.
The user must first have defined multiple scenarios and the respective data sets that go with each scenario, or this procedure will not work as intended. (The Copy Database Data feature described below is a superior method for copying data from one scenario to another and for copying data from one database to another.)
