This field holds the free flow speed for the selected link. Since data is entered separately for each directional link, different speeds can be entered for each direction. The program will automatically select a default speed for the appropriate class. The program will accept any speed consistent with that class. See the HCM if you are unsure about acceptable values. The program will accept speeds greater than 45 mph but will not calculate a running time unless the distance is greater than one mile. In such cases, the user must estimate a running time per mile and input it in the spaces at the bottom of the screen.
