1.3 HARDWARE & SYSTEM REQUIREMENTS

TRAFFIX™ for Windows runs on IBM compatible micro-computers. It needs at least a Pentium micro-processor and 64 Mb (128 Mb recommended) RAM to operate properly. Best performance is provided on machines with the higher CPU speeds (90 MHz or higher). TRAFFIX™ for Windows is a 32-bit program; therefore, the operating system needs to be Windows95, Windows98, Windows NT, Windows 2000, Windows ME, Windows XP or Windows Vista. TRAFFIX™ for Windows is not designed to run under Windows 3.1. Some users have reported problems running it over Novell NT networks 1 .

While running, TRAFFIX™ for Windows creates and utilizes large files in the TEMP directory, (typically C:\Windows\TEMP). Users experiencing trouble opening or editing files with TRAFFIX™, will want to insure that their TEMP directory has been cleaned and that there is adequate space.

TRAFFIX™ uses varying amounts of computer resources as it runs. The "dialog cache setting" under the files|preferences menu can effect how TRAFFIX™ handles the computer resources made available to it. See the Dialog Cache Setting on page 76 for more details.
